MOUNT DORA -- For the past four years, Diane Brooks, 55, has been teaching etiquette to Lake County teenagers -- from introducing themselves and learning how to act in social situations, to setting the table for a five-course dinner.
While the girls learn when to take off and leave on those white gloves, the boys learn the proper etiquette of opening doors, helping girls with their coats and getting refreshments.
Sometimes students say they are just participating because their parents make them. Nonetheless, Brooks said, they "truly have a good time with it."
Also, while eating bread at the dinner table, you're supposed to tear off a piece of bread, butter it and eat it -- don't butter the whole piece of bread and then eat it.
