Based on the views which came to light, the thought was expressed about the morality of the issue and whether or not steps should be taken to make this activity forcefully illegal.

As a parent of two boys, I am in total disagreement with my sons dating older women, especially one acting as if she is younger than his mother. The first thing that comes to mind is that she would be my daughter and that would make me uncomfortable. I would not be able to relate to her in any way.

I would not encourage such a relationship because my teenage son should be concentrating on his education and would have no time for that kind of nonsense.

Sexual relationships are for married people and a 16 year-old is a child and is nowhere near the age of marriage in our culture. Any adult entering such a relationship with a child below 21 years old should be punished. The onus of responsibility lies with the adult and they must be made to face the penalty under the law.

As a parent I would be very upset, putting it mildly, if an older woman became involved with my teenage son in an intimate relationship; this definitely should be treated as statutory rape. There is a need to sensitise our boys of this trend and to warn them of the dangers posed.

As the father of an 18 year-old, my question to these women would be, what position could a teen boy be in, to mentally, emotionally and financially look after a woman 25 years and older? That kind of unnatural relationship would negatively affect the boy in the future.
